I was first diagnosed with Hashimoto’s in 2009.
During my autoimmune journey over the past 15+ years I have seen so many medical experts, ranging from GP’s who told me nothing was wrong with me, to helpful naturopath’s and a few wonderful functional medicine doctors who at least knew what autoimmunity was all about.
I tried so many protocols, supplements and diets. But still I felt terrible and knew what I was feeling was not ‘normal’.
If you are reading this, you can probably relate to my journey and how it feels to never feel 100% well, or what you assume wellness should feel like, as it has been so long since you felt that way.
Around my 50th birthday, I finally had enough, I was overweight, depressed and felt more like I was 100 than 50 and I knew something had to change. I started working with a lifestyle coach who led me through small, incremental changes that over 6 months ended up changing my lifestyle and my life for good.
Over the years I have followed some amazing online experts and tried many of their suggestions, but it wasn’t until my coach explained the overarching concept of holistic wellness that I realised the experts were all talking about the same thing, implementing multiple lifestyle choices that add up to wellness.
That is the journey and story that I want to share. How to take small but profound steps to make a massive difference in your life and start to heal your autoimmune disease.
